Founded in 1921 by Duncan Phillips, critic and collector of American art, the Phillips Memorial Art Gallery has become one of the largest collections of modern art in the United States. After a while in Asia, this collection arrives to Caixa Forum Barcelona until June 19th. It is an exceptional opportunity to see the major works of some of the most important painters of the past 200 years. In Duncan Phillips words, “the spirit shared by artists from around the world and different eras shows that art is a universal language.”
