Seville, located in the southwest of the Iberian Peninsula, is the capital of Andalusia. World-famous for flamenco dancing, bullfighting, tapas and Moorish architecture, Seville is a city that you will fall in love with from the first moment. There are numerous sights of Seville, but the most important ones are the Alcázar and the Cathedral, which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Granada is located next to the Sierra Nevada mountains in Andalusia in the south of Spain. The long-time capital of Moorish Andalusia has to offer the most important reminds of this epoch in Spanish history, with the incredible Alhambra at the top of the list. In the northeast of the city we can find the Albaicín quarter, the oldest section of Granada, with its narrow cobbled streets and “cármenes” (Moorish-style houses).
Cordoba was the most important city during the Moorish rule of Spain in the Middle Ages, and it was home to the stunning Grand Mosque of Cordoba. Today, the mosque is the city’s cathedral, but retains much of its Islamic design. Cordoba’s old town is a Unesco World Heritage Site and is home to the city’s Roman Bridge, charming cobbled streets and some fascinating pieces of architecture.
Doñana is a mosaic of landscapes that form a clean horizon that becomes a paradise for the more than 300 different species of birds that visit throughout the year. It is a labyrinth of land and water that forms a wide variety of geographical accidents and is considered the largest ecological reserve in Europe. The sand dunes between Matalascañas and the mouth of the Guadalquivir, the Asperillo fossil dune or its cliff on the beach: these are places that, because of their many colors, create a beautiful landscape.
Ronda is a breathtaking mountaintop village near Malaga in southern Spain. It is most famous for the Puente Nuevo, a stone bridge that spans the El Tajo gorge, a dramatically steep drop that separates the new and old towns of Ronda. The town is also home to the oldest bullring in Spain, the Plaza de Toros de Ronda, where Ernest Hemingway watched many bullfights during his summer holidays here.
Malaga is a lively, bustling and cosmopolitan city with a rich artistic and cultural heritage. Also known for being the birthplace of the artist Pablo Picasso, Malaga has more than 20 museums and a large number of buildings of great architectural and heritage value. Its warm climate almost all year round allows you to enjoy its beautiful beaches, “chiringuitos” (restaurants facing the sea), a large number of bars and terraces during any time of the year.
