Living the sensation of freedom and tranquility that you feel floating in the air aboard a balloon is a truly amazing experience. But do so flying through impressive volcanoes and some of the most beautiful landscapes in Catalonia can be a surprising experience. We will head to La Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park, one of the most interesting areas of dormant volcanoes in Europe. There, a private instructor will be waiting for us, who will be responsible for directing the exciting air journey. Once up, we will enjoy contemplating volcanoes, colourful landscapes, medieval villages, the Pyrenees… Mid-journey we will toast with a glass of cava and taste a “coca de llardons” (local product). After ballooning, we will explore the woodlands of La Fageda d’en Jorda, an amazing ancient beech forest where our guide will talk us about the plants and wildlife endemic to the region. We will suggest to have lunch in a local restaurant in the town of Santa Pau, where the medieval castle and fortifications offer an intriguing glimpse into the region’s history. After lunch on the way to the hotel, we will stop to visit Besalú, one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Catalonia.
