From Friday 13th to Sunday 15th, the town of Montmeló helds the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Spain Pirelli 2016. During three days, the best drivers in this competition invade the “Circuito de Catalunya” in the first European Grand Prix of the season. Fans of Ferrari, Williams, Renault or Mercedes and other teams can access to see their idols in both the trainings, Friday and Saturday, and during the final on Sunday 15th.
Girona temps de flors
One of the best weeks to visit Girona is actually this one. From May 7th to May 15th the city becomes the floral capital of southern Europe because flowers become a decorative element that fill both its streets and the most famous monuments in the city. The route starts at the Cathedral stairs but the artistic proposals emerge from walls, floors and any other charming corner located around the old quarter.
On Saturday May 21st, Barcelona celebrates the Museum Night. With the European tradition as a precedent, the city maintains open the doors of its museums and cultural centers so that visitors can enjoy exhibitions until dawn. In addition, during this festive evening, many cultural centers offer concerts, shows, tours, workshops and other activities for the whole family. This year there will be more than 80 centers in Barcelona hosting artistic initiatives and activities. Among others you will find the Botanic Garden, the Ethnological Museum of Barcelona and The Gaudí Exhibition Center.
LikerART is an art festival that takes place in five districts around Barcelona during a month, with routes that make you dive into unique spaces located in each area. This project aims to rediscover Barcelona from an artistic point of view and draws special attention to the talent of its creators. On one hand there is a will to praise atypical cultural places hidden around the city and on the other hand it becomes a great platform for the artists, who can sell their works to their public.
It seems that the most important music artists have agreed to choose Barcelona as their Spanish stage during their world tours this May. We start welcoming “The Boss” or Bruce Springsteen and his inseparable The Street Band, who begins “The River Tour” on May 14th with a repertoire of songs that the artist recorded 30 years ago but have not seen the light until today. The English band Queen is one of the most famous in the history of modern music and after the premature death of their leader Freddie Mercury they still have maintained their songs as hymns that transcend generations. On the 22nd this month, vocalist Adam Lambert will revive some of the unforgettable songs of the band in a concert in Palau Sant Jordi. Last but not least, two artists of the current Pop scene who move masses also visit Barcelona. Adele (24th and 25th) and Coldplay (26th and 27th) have sold out the tickets in their appointment in the Catalan capital.
